THE BEACHES OF RIVIERA DEL CONERO This area has a unique coastal, characterized by a clear and pleasant seaside. The southern coast, after Ancona, is an alternate of pure white sand beaches and steep rock faces which fall over the sea. By coming through the scoglio del Trave, the main rock which delimits Mezzavalle's bay, you can reach Portonovo's bay, the ideal place to fully enjoy a holiday within nature and relax. The Napoleon's fort divides the beach in two and preserves architectural beauties such as the Santa Maria romanesque Church, and the 18th century De Bosis' Tower. Among the several little beaches located at the feet of the rocky area, there is the one called Due Sorelle. This name is due to the two big rocks which emerge from the sea. Clear sea, wide beaches and the well-equipped harbour are the main resources of Numana, an old sea village. On the other hand, Marcelli and Porto Recanati are the most turistic areas of the Riviera, characterized by residences, holiday villages, and restaurants. |
