ART AND CULTURE IN THE MARCHES The Camping Bellamare is the ideal starting point to find out Marches' great cultural and artistic work of arts. Ancona: main town of the Region with approximately 100.000 inhabitants, it is composed by an ancient part and a modern one. The old town centre offers a great cultural heritage site. Loreto: here is located probably one of the most important sanctuaries of the whole Christian tradition in Italy. Osimo: one of the most ancient towns which still preserves in its subsoil a full-blown underground village, built in remote times. Recanati: native land of Giacomo Leopardi. In his famous house, where are still living his descendants, you can visit the poet's Library. Macerata: Sferisterio – neoclassic arena where every year takes place a very famous opera season. Grotte di Frasassi: >marvellous cave complex built by the water. In the tourist route of about 2 hours, it is possible to admire the beauty of the nature. Urbino: native land of the painter Raffaello Sanzio, Urbino is worldwide recognized as one of the main capitals of the Italian Renaissance and as UNESCO's heritage site. |
